Was there a Real Alice?
Well yes! To amuse the three daughters of his friend during a rowboat expedition,Charles Lutwidge Dodgson or Lewis carroll became the storyteller. One of the girls, Alice Liddell, then became his inspiration for the main character's name. On her repetitive insistence, Lewis carroll wrote Alice in the wonderland on 26 Nov 1864 for her, but it was published a year later in 1865.

Was Cheshire cat in the original manuscript?
The Cheshire cat "the self-disappearing cat with a grin" was not a part of the first rendition. The handwritten manuscript by Lewis Carroll of Alice and the underground adventure had never mentioned a cat as a character. Instead, it first appeared in a year later published edition.
The cat though became the mostadmired and popular character.
